24 May.2018

The LIFE project "Land for LIFE" took part in the Farmer Festival in Sofia: "From our Farm - with love for you!" on the occasion of the Natura 2000 Day, which is celebrated every year in Europe on May 21st. Together with the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation and WWF, we talked about the Natura 2000 areas, where many of the products come from for the Festival. A successful business can be developed in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner and the Festival is a demonstration of this every Wednesday.

The project “Linking Nature Protection and Sustainable Rural Development” was designed to to demonstrate that the link between nature conservation and sustainable rural development in regions of high natural value can be a win-win situation in Bulgaria - for local people, for businesses and for the environment.

The Festival was visited by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Rumen Porodzanov and the Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov.

BSPB calls on the Bulgarian institutions to focus efforts on the preservation and efficient management of Natura 2000 in Bulgaria.
