The rainy weather and storms this year affected not only the lives of people with floods and damage but also caused the destruction of the family home of the endangered Imperial eagles. This happened this Sunday, July 1, in the region of Sliven.
Because of the rain the huge nest has probably become too heavy and has collapsed with the three small eagles in it. Two of the young birds have managed to stay on the tree branches, but the third has fallen on the ground. A team of the LIFE project "Land for LIFE" and Green Balkans went to the tree to help the young eagle.
Soon after being placed at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center in Stara Zagora, the eagle unfortunately died. BSPB team continues to monitor the other two eagles to make sure their parents continue to take care of them.
