24 October.2017

Тhe Booted Eagle from the art installation “Life for the Eagles in Bulgaria” is  already part of the Blagoevgrad Regional Museum of History. At the beginning of October another emblem of the campaign was donated to the Faculty of Biology, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”- the Short-toed eagle. After visiting Plovdiv, Burgas and Sofia, the eagles from the art installation will be donated to various centers, museums, and etc. in Bulgaria.

The art installation includes six species of real eagles, which are endangered in our country – the Imperial Eagle, the Lesser Spotted Eagle, the White-tailed Eagle, the Golden Eagle, the Booted Eagle and the Short-toed eagle. The artist Lyubka Marinkova has made the models, which represent the six real-sized eagles, and look alive, but they are actually made of metal and paper coated with paint and varnish.

BSPB initiates a petition for establishing “National eagles’ day” in Bulgaria. The date chosen is 27th of June. The aim is to remind for the unreplaceable role of these birds in nature through information campaigns and educational initiatives. BSPB addresses this proposition to the Minister of agriculture, food and forestry and the Minister of environment and water.  You can support the petition here.
